SS-31 (Elamipretide, also known as MTP-131) is a tetrapeptide that selectively concentrates in mitochondrial inner membranes. Published studies have explored its cardioprotective properties in ischaemia-reperfusion research, neuroprotective effects in CNS models and potential applications in age-related mitochondrial dysfunction research.
